The Pottery Room
The design brief
Sarah was looking for a Studio that would accommodate her craft, Pottery!
Her design brief was very simple, flood it with light, give me a feeling, internally, of a “Seaside hut” and finally position the studio to inspire me!
What we installed
We designed and built and 6m x 3m studio with Aluminium French doors and fixed panes spanning 3.6m to the side and front elevations we installed further windows to allow natural light into the studio.
Location and orientation were important to Sarah and we positioned the studio 80 metres from the main house which allowed the evening sun to set on the studio. With a black feature finish to the cladding the design is stunning and nestles into the garden beautifully.
Internally, Sarah wanted the “seaside hut” feel with a knotted tongue and groove ceiling. She also required services of water and electrics to suit her 1200kw Pottery firing oven.
Sarah’s Pottery studio has allowed her CRAFT to develop and she designs beautiful Pottery to Customers whilst working in a Studio designed for her inspiration.
